Rising to the Challenge
The academic years of 2021-2022 brought a unique set of challenges, with increased student numbers in non-government control areas (NGCA) as a result of the Military Coup effects. Responding to these changing dynamics, DCE has taken a proactive stance to provide students with an environment where learning can flourish.
Creating Safe and Sufficient Learning Spaces
The core aim of our efforts lies in creating learning environments that are not just safe but also sufficient to cater to the growing student populations. Through strategic collaborations with partner organizations, we have embarked on an ambitious journey of school construction, renovation, and furnishing. This initiative has been guided by thorough needs assessments, which help us identify and address unmet and urgent needs in target areas.
Reaching the Remote and Leading the Change
Our efforts are not confined to urban areas; we are committed to reaching the most remote corners where education often faces challenges. Local Church lead schools and Temporary Learning Centers (TLCs) are our focus, ensuring that students in every corner of our community have access to quality education. To date, we have successfully renovated over 20 schools and provided more than 300 furniture pieces, including desks and chairs for both students and teachers.
